Burntwood Ford and Kia dealership, The Acorn Group and its leasing company Motor Contracts, have chosen We Love Lichfield as its 2015 local ‘charity of choice’ and announced a series of fund-raising and promotional projects to support the fund.
Over the next twelve months the company, based on the Cannock Road in Chase Terrace, will, amongst others, give £10 to We Love Lichfield for every Test Drive done in February and March next year and donate £10.00 for every Winter Healthcheck completed in December, January and February. When booking a Test Drive or Winter Healthcheck telephone 01543 685656 and quote ‘We Love Lichfield’. To start the campaign they have made a single donation of £250.00 and to help raise awareness of the We Love Lichfield Fund they have put the Fund’s logo onto each of their six courtesy cars.
Dave Larkin, Director of Acorn Group and Motor Contracts said: “I’ve seen the We Love Lichfield Fund grow over the last three years and the good it has done throughout the district, and simply wanted to do our bit.”
“We are a keen supporter of local charities and know how hard it is to not only raise money, but also to promote your charity when there are so many. The job is made even harder when you are relatively new. That’s why we offered to not only create a series of fund raisers but also put the We Love Lichfield logo on all our courtesy cars which will help spread the word throughout the area.”
“The giant strides We Love Lichfield has made in just three years and their remit to give back solely to Lichfield, Burntwood and the surrounding district was key to our decision and we want to raise significant sums over the next few months. We also hope to help raise the profile of We Love Lichfield, particularly in the Burntwood area, to get more people to support the fund and to raise more money for them to give more back to the community.”

To have a single business commit to We Love Lichfield with not just fund-raisers but also a fleet of cars to help us promote the fund is amazing. When the team at Acorn and Motor Contracts said they wanted to support us and went through their ‘list’ of ideas we couldn’t get started quick enough. Simon continued: “This tie-up with the team at Acorn and Motor Contracts is, I hope, the dawn of a new era for We Love Lichfield. We have been busily working on a number of projects with local businesses over the last few months as more approach us with support. They all comment of the fact they can see locally where the money goes and that we help the smaller organisations which are sometimes lost under the radar. We don’t have any premises to fund, no equipment to buy or hire; all we do is simply to raise money for the voluntary group in our district and people are starting to see the difference we making. Our aim is to raise enough money that we can pledge money in perpetuity. When we get to £500,000 in the fund we will be able to give away £25,000 for ever. That’s a big target but I hope that this announcement is the first of many businesses who will support us. But again I’d like to thank the team at Acorn and Motor Contracts for their support.”
