Great Christmas Gifts After Grant Giveaway

GOOD causes across the Lichfield district have received the perfect Christmas gift from We Love Lichfield.  The fund, which gives grants of up to £1,000 to local district based voluntary groups, made its presentations recently at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre with recipients joined by the cast of the panto Cinderella.  Patron and advisor of the We Love Lichfield Fund Simon Price said: “The aim is to give away money to people who make a difference in our community. The volunteers in this district are fantastic and we simply couldn’t do without them.”

“The fund is really now starting to gather some momentum.  We have given over £30,000 away to 80+ organisations since we started three years ago.  Our next step is to get more people to pledge money to the We Love Lichfield whether it be a fun run, car wash or whatever.”

“An interesting development is the number of businesses who have made We Love Lichfield their 2015 ‘Charity of Choice’.  Having the support of local businesses is a great coup for a young and growing fund and I’d like to thank amongst others Acorn Group and Darnford Moors Golf Club for their support during the coming year.

Kerry Mornington of Violets in Bloom is one of the recipients.  She said: “Thank you so much”, she told the attending audience. “This is amazing.” The money will help establish a children’s memorial garden in Fradley in memory of her daughter Violet who died last year as a result of a rare disease aged only five.

The picture above is an amazing photo of all the recipients, the We Love Lichfield advisors and the cast of Garrick Theatre panto Cinderella on stage at a very special day:
