International Water Business Makes Donation To Local Community Fund
We have received a significant donation from Roxane UK, the water bottling company. Known for its Aqua Pura brand, the Fradley based company has donated £10,000 to the community fund after seeing the difference We Love Lichfield is making to the voluntary sector across the district.
Davy Brunel from Aqua Pura said, “We are an international business but our heart is very much local with an amazing workforce from across the district of Lichfield. Indeed, we have some members of our team who, in their spare time, help in the local voluntary sector and they have been beneficiaries of We Love Lichfield funding. We Love Lichfield has worked tirelessly to help local organisations and we are delighted to support them.”
Elaine Hutchings recently joined the We Love Lichfield advisory panel and was presented with the £10,000 donation at Roxane’s Fradley bottling plant with patron Simon Price. She said, “A huge thank you to Roxane. We Love Lichfield is a small fund, wanting to make a big difference and to receive a donation from an international business like Roxane is amazing. The whole team are buzzing knowing that with this kind gift, we are going to help lots of people.”
The donation comes on the back of another significant contribution to the We Love Lichfield fund from the Lichfield West Midlands Traded Services, the trading arm of Lichfield District Council.
Since starting over a decade ago, We Love Lichfield has given away just over £420,000 in 428 grants to 228 organisations.
We Love Lichfield is one of the Community Foundation For Staffordshire and Shropshire’s place based funds. It provides grants to a wide range of projects operating across the district of Lichfield. The fund considers applications from local groups in need twice a year. It raises money and then the returns are given away. Companies and individuals make up the bulk of the donors to the fund, either through direct donations, or by fundraising.
All the money raised is invested through an endowment fund in line with charity commission guidelines. The financial return from the fund is then distributed as small grants across the area. The beauty of this model is that it will provide a source of sustainable funding that can be used for grants long in to the future. It’s almost like a pension scheme set up to support community and voluntary groups across Lichfield. Individuals and businesses can raise money for We Love Lichfield.
