The newly refurbished Turnpike pub on Boley Park has made We Love Lichfield its 2017 charity of choice and to start raising money for the local fund, the Turnpike is holding a special Open Day St George’s Day, Sunday 23rd April.
New franchisee Martin Swinden has recently taken over the pub and invested in new staff, new menus and new decor and wants the Turnpike to be the centre of the community. He said: “It’s important to me that Turnpike is a hub, a venue for the local people and an integral part of the community. I’ve seen the great work We Love Lichfield do help make the community a better place and I simply want to make my contribution and give something back. We’ll be holding various events to raise money and to start it all off is a fun-packed day on Sunday 23rd April.”
“Starting at 12noon, we have a special St George’s Day event. There will be a special English menu, games such as ‘pin the tale on the dragon’ and we ask everyone to come dressed in fancy dress. It’s all about having fun and helping raise some money for our local area.”
