Big Fish Catches £500 For WLL

The inaugural We Love Lichfield Fund Big Fish attracted a host of anglers to the District with 20 making it to the final on Minster Pool on Sunday 29th June.  The sun shone brightly and many people turned up to watch 20 people fish under the watchful eyes of the spires of Lichfield Cathedral.

Organiser Terry Turner of We Love Lichfield said: “The event has two purposes.  To help raise awareness of the We Love Lichfield and secondly to bring people from out the area into the city and District and to see what a wonderful place it is. Everyone enjoyed taking part and there was an excellent social event on the Saturday evening for all those who took part. Thanks to Darnford Moors Golf Club for hosting it.”

The winner of The Big Fish was Tony Taylor with a catch of 74lbs 13oz (pictured with Ken Humphreys of We Love Lichfield), runner-up was John Harper with 57Lbs 14oz, then Willie Austin with 41lb 11oz, Jamie Scott with 38lb 8oz, Mick Doyle, 32lbs and Neil Lawrence with 26 13oz.
