Lichfield Gazette Announces Its 2015 Charity of Choice

The Lichfield Gazette has announced that its “2015 Charity of Choice” is We Love Lichfield.

The free monthly magazine has brought local news and advertising to 18,000 homes and businesses throughout the Lichfield district for many years and from last year it used its successful formula to create the Chase Gazette. According to the Editor Paul Oakley, the Gazette is a community driven magazine, it’s all about the people!

Paul and his team have previously supported the fund by creating calendars showcasing local photographers’ skills of District landmarks.  In 2013 the Calendar raised an amazing £450 for WLL.

Announcing the choice of We Love Lichfield as it’s chosen charity, the January issue of the magazine also promotes the ‘Celebrity T-Shirt Challenge’.  The fund is hoping to get as many celebrity signatures as possible on a special We Love Lichfield T-shirt and then auction it with all proceeds going to local voluntary groups. So far the likes of Laurence Llewlyn-Bowen and Tony Christie have signed the shirt together with ex-England cricketer Ashley Giles. Comedian Jasper Carrott has also made his mark and back in November TV star and comic Jason Manford signed the shirt when he performed at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre.  Jason is pictured on the front cover of the Gazette’s January edition with We Love Lichfield advisor Adrian Jackson.

Simon Price, We Love Lichfield Patron said: “I’m delighted that the Lichfield Gazette has chosen the fund as their charity of choice for 2015.  The magazine is part of the fabric of the district supporting local businesses, local authorities and voluntary organisations.”
