Fund Announces Grants Available Across The District

The We Love Lichfield Fund has announced its next series of grants and is asking voluntary groups and organisations across the District to apply for funding.

Grants are awarded twice a year by the Fund to voluntary organisations and up to £5000 will be given away before Christmas.   Monies are available for equipment, training and events and grants between £100 and £500 will be made to successful groups who apply before 11^th November, 2013.

Simon Price, CEO of Arthur Price and patron of the We Love Lichfield fund said: “I’m delighted to announce the next series of grants for Autumn 2013 and I’m looking forward to hearing about all the fantastic work done across the District and how we can help.  The Fund is here solely to help those people and organisations who give their time for free and make a significant contribution to society.  Without them, many precious projects would not benefit many members of our society.  The fund itself is run by volunteers with the support of many others and together I hope we can make a difference across the District.”

Launched in 2011, the We Love Lichfield Fund considers applications from local groups in need twice a year.  Companies and individuals are welcomed to donate or fund-raise and all money is invested through a permanent endowment fund by registered charity Staffordshire Community Foundation on behalf of We Love Lichfield in line with charity commission guidelines. The interest and dividends earned on the invested money is then distributed by the We Love Lichfield Fund as small grants across the district. The beauty of this model is that it will provide a source of on-going funding that can be used for small grants, and larger grants as the fund grows, for many years to come.  The fund aims to raise £500,000 by April 2016, which would mean up to £25,000 could be given away every year.”

Applications to the We Love Lichfield Fund will close on Monday 11^th November 2013.
