This is why We All Love Lichfield

We don’t get many sunny bank holidays.  We don’t get many opportunities to break a world record.  We don’t say often enough why the District of Lichfield is brilliant.

Today, over 400 people achieved a first…they competed in the World’s Shortest Fun Run in the UK’s smallest park…Princes Park in Burntwood, all in aid of the We Love Lichfield Fund.

We had two Elvis (whatever the plural of that is), countless dogs, Stig turned up but went the wrong way, we had the Chairman of Lichfield District Council’s consort be pushed around in a wheelchair…a great time was had by all and they all raised money for a charity that guarantees to put all the money raised into the Lichfield district.

A huge thank you to sponsors Virgain Active and supporters Arthur Price.  A huge thank you to runners and supporters.  A big thank you to the weather for making it such a wonderful event and the biggest thank of all to KP Events who came up with the idea of the World’s Shortest Fun Run…all in aid of We Love Lichfield.  Organisers of the Lichfield Dash and the Lichfield Half Marathon amongst other events they are great supporters of the area and of our work.  A big, big thank you to Kevin, Paul and their team.

Now we just have to wait on the Guinness Book of record to, hopefully, confirm the record.
