Apply for funding in spring 2013

Worthy causes across the District of Lichfield can apply now for a slice of £5,000 being offered by the We Love Lichfield Fund. The charity helps groups and organisations in need in the form of individual grants of up £500 which can be spent on equipment, training and events. Many have benefited already from the fund and patron Simon Price, CEO of Arthur Price is encouraging more to make a grant application.  He said:

“I’m delighted to announce the next series of grants and I’m looking forward to hearing about all the fantastic work done across the district and how we can help.  The fund is here solely to help those people and organisations who give their time for free and make a significant contribution to society. Without them, many precious projects would not benefit many members of our society. The fund itself is run by volunteers with the support of, among others, Lichfield District Council and Lichfield Live and together I hope we can make a difference.”

Beneficiaries from the last round of grants included 1st Burntwood Scout Group, 2nd Chase Rainbows, City of Lichfield Concert Band, Flea Pit Cinema, Fulfen Association, Lichfield Under 16 Rugby Tour, Monks Walk Group, South Staffordshire Young Enterprise Board and University of the Third Age.

The We Love Lichfield Fund was launched in 2011 and is financed through donations and fund-raising events. Firms and individuals are welcome to donate or fund-raise and all money isinvested through a permanent endowment fund by registered charity Staffordshire Community Foundation on behalf of We Love Lichfield in line with charity commission guidelines. The interest and dividends earned on the invested money is then distributed by the fund. The next round of grants will be made on Friday, May 10. Applicants are asked to check the guidelines to make sure they qualify. The deadline for the receipt of applications is Friday, March 1.
